Value for money Honda Elevate set to disrupt SUV segment

The Honda Elevate has gone on sale in South Africa featuring eye-catching styling, extensive features and a value for money proposition that is sure to make it a success in the highly competitive SUV segment.

Modern, SUV design

The Elevate is Honda’s all new global mid-size SUV, which was designed and developed by Honda Asia Pacific and is manufactured at Honda’s facility in India. The overall design incorporates essential attributes of dynamism, bold styling, comfort and safety that Honda SUVs are renowned for. The result is a product that appeals through desirability, functionality and usability.

The Elevate is differentiated by a bold and assertive exterior design in combination with generous overall proportions. Smoothly creased hood lines, an aggressively wide stance and a bold grille guarantee a dramatic first impression. All models are fitted with LED lighting all-round which includes distinctive daytime running lights above the headlight cluster. The side profile sports bold, square wheel arches. Elegance models feature a colour coded lower door garnish and 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Comfort models ride on 16-inch steel wheels.

Under the bonnet

All models are powered by  Honda’s 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine that offers 89kW at 6 600rpm and 145Nm at 4300rpm. Fuel consumption is rated at a frugal 6,1 litres per 100km. Transmission options include a six-speed manual on Comfort derivatives and a CVT on Elegance grades.

Inside story

The interior is spacious and offers a solid, premium SUV feel, thanks to contemporary fabrics and soft-touch materials. Comfort models feature seats upholstered in high quality fabric, while the seats in Elegance derivatives are adorned with eco-friendly leather.

The interior is characterised by the horizontal sweep of the instrument panel and clean lines and surfaces throughout. A high-resolution eight-inch touch screen display audio system has been neatly integrated into the instrument panel and gives users the full functionality of a smartphone via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Elegance models are also fitted with a seven-inch TFT multi-information display that offers essential driving information, as well as an integrated wireless smartphone charger located in the centre console.

In addition to the generously spacious cabin for front and rear passengers, the Elevate also offers 458 litres of boot space.

All models are fitted with comfort and convenience features including automatic air-conditioning, smart keyless entry with walk-away locking, rear parking sensors and a multi-angle reverse parking camera. An electrically controlled sunroof allows natural light to fill the cabin and adds to the open airy atmosphere.

Top class safety

The Elevate range features a suite of safety technologies designed to keep the driver and passengers safe. This starts with Hondas ACE body structure technology that forms the foundation for excellent passive safety performance, enhancing occupant crash protection. Elegance models are fitted with front, side and curtain SRS airbags while Comfort models feature two front SRS airbags.

Model range and pricing

The Honda Elevate is sold with a four-year/60 000km service plan, five-year/200 000km warranty and three-years of AA roadside assistance.
