Honda CR-V represents exceptional value

Don’t miss out on these CR-V deals

Late last year the Honda CR-V was treated to a variety of minor exterior changes to ensure that it remains a competitive offering in the SUV market.

The already attractive yet rugged appeal was updated in order to remain modern and relevant. The interior has remained largely unchanged, continuing to provide premium finishes and unparalleled space.

Updated styling

Styling remains unmistakably Honda with an air of boldness, sensibility and quality. The front and rear bumpers, now feature a bold and aggressive look.

The front end is dominated by a broad-barred grille, which is framed by curved, slimline headlights that feature integrated daytime running lights. Dual air intakes with a dark meshed finish split the colour-coded bumper and a metallic scuff plate underlines the CR-Vs clear SUV identity.

From the side, the CR-Vs aerodynamic silhouette is accentuated by a smooth roofline with integrated roof rails. At the rear, the inverted LED taillight clusters are joined by a chromed garnish strip and located high up on the tailgate. On 1.5T models, twin exhaust tailpipes are located within the rear scuff plate.

Protective cladding on the lower sections of the body panels as well as pronounced wheel arch extensions add to the rugged SUV look.

Upmarket interior

Inside an upmarket environment has been created with high-quality materials and finishes, soft-touch surfaces, matt alloy accents and attractive stitching. A full-colour TFT driver information interface is located in a dedicated binnacle ahead of the driver and is dominated by a graph-type rev counter and a digital speedometer. A five or seven-inch screen in the centre stack provides convenient access and control to relevant functions.

The CR-V continues to offer class leading interior space and the latest model takes that one step further with additional rear legroom. With the seats in place the CR-V boasts 522 litres of luggage space, which can be extended to 1 084 litres with the rear seats folded down.

Two engine options

The CR-V consists of four models and two different engine options including Honda’s familiar 2.0-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine. This normally-aspirated powerplant offers 113kW at 6 500rpm and 189Nm from 4 300rpm. A CVT gearbox with G Shift control logic takes care of gear swapping duties and transfers power to the front wheels.

The 1.5-litre turbocharged powerplant features direct injection and variable valve timing to deliver 140kW at 5 600rpm and 240Nm from 2000rpm and is also paired with a CVT gearbox.

Model range

The CR-V range consists of four models, comprising two engines and four specification levels.

As an entry point into the range, the 2.0 Comfort offers an extensive list of standard comfort, convenience and safety features. Distinguishing exterior features include aluminium-look front and rear scuff plates and brushed aluminium roof rails as well as 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin is adorned with cloth upholstery and metallic accents while the dashboard is home to a five-inch full-colour display.

Motus Honda is currently running a promotion on this model with stock available from only R573 900 or R7 899 per month.
