A clean and sculpted body shape is emphasises by a low and wide stance, along with a longer bonnet and short front overhang.
The Ballade is 110mm longer, 55mm wider and 10mm lower than its predecessor, which adds to the athletic and dynamic appearance, increases interior space and lowers the centre of gravity.

Inside story
The interior features a modern, driver-oriented design that combines functionality with high quality materials and good design. A minimalistic layout incorporates soft touch and accent materials of premium quality.
A key part of the interior design was the incorporation of efficient driver ergonomics. From a comfortable seating position access to all the necessary controls is intuitive. Slimmed down A-pillars and repositioned side-mirrors provide an excellent field of view while minimising blind spots.
In addition, new seat designs include high-quality fabric upholstery on Comfort and Elegance models, while the RS model boasts premium leather upholstery.
A high-resolution eight-inch touchscreen has been neatly integrated into the instrument panel. A brand-new infotainment system comes standard on the Elegance and RS models and incorporates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality as well as Bluetooth and steering wheel controls.
Additional standard features include electrically operated side mirrors and windows, cruise control, automatic air-conditioning and auto headlights across the range.
In addition the flagship RS model is fitted with smart entry, a rear-view parking camera, electric sunroof and a seven-inch TFT multi-information display.
Under the bonnet
A 1.5-litre DOHC engine with i-VTEC technology achieves improved efficiency and reduced emissions, without compromising on performance. The result is 89kW at 6 600rpm and 145Nm at 4500rpm. A fuel consumption figure of 5,5 litres per 100km ticks the efficiency box.
This efficiency is achieved in part thanks to a revised version of Honda’s Continuously Variable Transmission, which features a G-Design shift control, which creates the sense of driving of a traditional automatic transmission thanks to the integration of artificial gears, but with the enhanced efficiency of a CVT.
Safety features
Active safety features include ABS with EBD and Vehicle Stability Assist. Rear parking sensors are standard on Elegance and RS models, and the RS even features a reverse parking camera.
Passive safety includes driver, front passenger, side and curtain SRS airbags as well as seatbelt pretensioners and Isofix child seat anchors.
